Zed “The Truth and the Show” Mitchell was born and raised in Ayden, NC. He graduated in 2004 from Ayden Grifton High School. From that point on he started training and developing his skills at understanding Martial Arts.
He started boxing when he was 14 years old. Mitchell says he’s always loved to be competitive; and has learned discipline, respect, and honor through his training.
After 11 years of boxing and 3 years in Mixed Martial Arts, he entered his first amateur MMA fight in 2009 at the Greenville Convention Center; catching the fastest knock out in Eastern NC at 13 seconds. In the years that followed he maintained a winning record.
On June 11, 2011 he went to Pennsylvania to fight his first professional fight, facing a much bigger opponent who weighed in at 205lbs, Mitchell weighing in at 193lb. Mitchell pulled off a miraculous win in the first round with an 18 second knock out.
He’s also trains local law enforcement officials who help him further understand law enforcement and the difficulties of the job.
Mitchell is close friends with Dave Mirra, helping him to prepare for his first amateur boxing match in Las Vegas. He did very well in that match. Mirra quickly became a vital part in Mitchells up and coming success with understanding the business aspect of fighting.
Mitchell is signed with Paradigm MMA Management, which also manages “Razor” Rob McCullough.
